Cowgirls are conference champs

In a match to decide the NCC title, the Cowgirl volleyball team made it look easy in a three-set sweep of visiting and ranked Humboldt. Scores were 25-10, 25-19 and 25-20.

Team serving was at 97.2 percent, with Kendall Lienenann at 20 of 20 (two aces), Lexie Lane at 15 of 17 (two) and Alaina Friesleben at 13 of 13 (one). Morgan Middleton had 25 kills in the attack, with Lienemann adding three and Friesleben two. Jadyn Jondle made 10 digs, Emma Conlon four and both Lienemann and Middleton two each. Friesleben went vertical for three solo blocks, Summer Traub two and Waters one.

In a home match earlier in the week, they took care of Garner-Hayfield/Ventura by scores of 25-15, 25-11 and 25-14. Team serving was at 95.8 percent, with Lane going a nice 23 of 23 (three), Middleton 13 of 13 (four) and Friesleben 10 of 11 (one). Friesleben set the ball for 34 assists, with Middleton benefiting on that for 24 kills. Lienemann pounded six balls, Waters three and Lane and Traub two each over the net. Jondle had 10 digs on defense, with Lienemann and Lane chipping in four each and Friesleben and Middleton three each. Lane and Friesleben made a solo block each in net defense.
