Last Tuesday, at the Veteran’s Memorial Golf Course, Clear Lake hosted the NCC cross country meet. St. Edmond won the girls varsity title with 37 points, followed by Iowa Falls-Alden at 55 and Algona at 71 points. The Cowgirls did not field a full team for a score.
Raven Kinnetz was 14th in 21:53.1, followed by Makayla Pulido in 25:10.2 for 34th, Natalie Kirstein in 25:46.9 for 39th and Lauren Hansch in 30:27.3 for 48th at the finish.
There were no Cowgirl JV runners. Finishes for the middle school team were Makayla Beisel in 14:49.0 for sixth and Madison Ingebritson in 16:10.3 for 18th.
The Cowboys were eighth in the final standings, with a strong Humboldt team taking the crown with 32 points followed by Clear Lake at 62 and Webster City at 75.
Isaiah Nebbe came home in 18:06.3 for 11th, followed by Kaeden Langfitt in 18:27.9 for 20th, Jacob Ingebritson in 19:19.2 for 35th, Luke Brownell in 19:46.1 for 45th, Nick Carpenter in 20:51.4 for 53rd, Ian Schroder in 21:27.6 for 54th and Jackson Beisel in 22:05.2 for 55th.
The JV portion for the boys was won by Humboldt, with the Cowboys fifth. JV runners were: Alex Greving in 23:12.7 for 29th, Thomas Klever in 23:54.4 for 36th, Joshua Moore in 23:59.6 for 38th, Max Smith in 24:23.8 for 40th and Juan Jimenez in 29:38.5 for 51st.
The Cowboy middle school team took fifth out of eight full teams. Finishes were: Christopher Greenfield in 12:37.9 for seventh, Brandon Zigrang in 13:42.3 for 13th, Coleton Johnson in 14:09.2 for 18th, Jacob Wharton in 15:17.0 for 27th, Russell Garcia in 16:38.1 for 35th, Tate Jackson in 16:58.5 for 37th, Bruce Lindaman in 19:21.1 for 45th and Logan Frantz in 19:35.8 for 48th.
