Final volleyball stats show Lane, Middleton and Jondle among leaders

The Cowgirl volleyball team finished their season at the state tournament semifinals, and bow out for the 20-21 year at 28-3 overall. They finished 6-0 to take the North Central Conference title, with Humboldt second at 6-1 and Webster City third at 5-2. In addition to the all-conference honors already pictured last week, Morgan Middleton was named to the First Team and Jadyn Jondle the Second Team for Class 3A All-State. Middleton is also an Elite All-State selection for this year.

The ladies had 1,551 successful serves out of 1,683 attempts for a 92.2 cumulative efficiency percentage. There were 252 service aces as part of that.

Lexie Lane made 361 out of 393 serves for 91.9 percent. Alaina Friesleben made 279 out of 298 for 93.6 percent. Jadyn Jondle made 260 out of 282 for 92.2 percent. Morgan Middleton made 237 out of 252 for 94.0 percent. Kendall Lienemann made 234 out of 256 for 91.4 percent.

Nicole Waters made 165 out of 182 for 90.7 percent. Delia Swanson made seven out of nine for 77.8 percent. Summer Traub made two out of two for 100 percent, with Nikki Kapka, Brooke Askelsen and Clarissa Hasty all making two of three for 66.7 percent each.

Ranked in order of serving efficiency percentage, regardless of number of serves, the order would be: Traub 100 percent; Middleton 94.0 percent; Friesleben 93.6 percent; Jondle 92.2 percent; Lane 91.9 percent; Lienemann 91.4 percent; Waters 90.7 percent; Swanson 77.8 percent; Askelsen 66.7 percent; Hasty 66.7 percent and Kapka 66.7 percent.

The top six in ace serves was Lane at 69, Jondle at 55, Middleton at 47, Friesleben at 34, Waters at 26 and Lienemann at 21.

The team had 752 total assists, with Friesleben the main setter at 699 of those. Jondle was credite with 30, Waters eight, Lienemann and Lane three each, Swanson, Karlee Lehman, Traub and Middleton two each and Conlon one.

The team had 876 total kills, with Middleton registering 491 of those in her column. Lienemann finished with 150, Lane 115, Friesleben 42, Traub 35, Waters 33, Jondle five, Swanson three and both Kapka and Conlon one each.

The team made 862 total digs, with Jondle getting 272 of those as the libero. Lienemann had 156, Middleton 136, Friesleben 110, Conlon 76, Lane 60, Waters 30, Traub 13, Hasty six and Swanson three.

The team had 103 total solo blocks and 77 total block assists. Lane led in the solo column with 30, followed by Middleton with 23, Friesleben with 17, Traub with 14, Waters with nine, Lienemann with seven, Kapka with two and Hasty with one. Lane also led in block assists with 25, followed by Traub with 15, Middleton with 11, Waters with 10, Friesleben with eight, Lienemann with seven and Swanson with one.

In conference matches only, the Cowgirls were fifth in serving efficiency at .933. Iowa Falls-Alden led at .955 efficiency. They were first in both kills per set at 12.94 and kill efficiency at 0.283.

Jori Hajek of Humboldt was the top server in the NCC with 83 out of 84 for 98.8 percent. Jondle tied for eighth at 96.3 percent, with Middleton 17th at 94.7 percent. Deni McDaniel of Humboldt led in assists with 219 for 10.43 per set. Friesleben was right behind her at 167 for 9.28 per set. Jondle was 15th at 11 for 0.61.

Middleton led the league in kills at 138 with her 7.67 per set also topping that list. Lienemann was 11th at 36 and 1.89, with Lane 16th at 28 and 1.56. Aja Sheppard of Hampton-Dumont/CAL led in kill efficiency at 0.538, with Middleton second at 0.414. Traub was 10th at 0.250 and Lane 19th at 0.158.

Addy Showalter of H-D/CAL topped the digs category at 152 total for a 7.60 average per set. Jondle was 12th at 64 for 3.56 per set. Kaitlyn Vaderploeg of Clear Lake was the best in the NCC in blocking at 20 total for 1.053 per set. Lane was fourth at 0.89, Friesleben ninth at 0.67 and Traub 18th at 0.44 average per set.

The Cowgirl JV team was second at 5-1, with Humboldt the JV champion at 7-0. The Wildcats also took the freshmen conference title at 7-0, followed by the Cowgirls at 5-1.
