Cowboy wrestlers take win at Ballard

The only mat action of the week for the CGD wrestling team was a pre-holiday dual on Tuesday at Ballard. They would defeat the home Bombers by a 57-24 final score.

The dual opened at 182, with the Bombers taking the first two matches by fall for a quick 12-0 advantage. Camden Hanson turned it around in their favor at 220 with a fall in 5:10, and was followed by Kain Nelson doing the same in just 45 seconds at heavyweight to tie the score. Rigo Bobadilla would lose his match at 106, but that was offset by a forfeit win for Kaeden Langfitt at 113 and a fall for Ethan Traub (120) in 47 seconds.

With the score tied again at 24-24 entering the 132-pound match, the Cowboys would sweep all the rest on the night. Kirstein won that one 6-4, followed by Reed Abbas (138) scoring a fall in 2:58 and Remi Hanson (145) doing the same in just 58 seconds. Mack Seaba (152) stuck his man in 3:44, Garrett Seaba (160) did the same in 3:05 and Bryce Allen (170) put the cherry on top with a pin in 1:22 for the final margin.
