Last Tuesday in Jewell, the Cowboy wrestling team took on host South Hamilton and Manson NW Webster in dual meet action. They won both duals, downing the Hawks 58-24 and the Cougars 62-7.
Versus the Hawks, pins were recorded by Rigo Bobadilla (:31), Cale Kirstein (1:54), fifth ranked (3A) Reed Abbas (:16), Bryce Allen (1:30), Kain Nelson (1:04) and Danny Chavez (:51) as the team piled up the points. Mack Seaba came through with a 12-4 major decision, while three others won by forfeit. Reed Huntley won by fall in 3:53 in a JV match.
Versus the Cougars, falls were from Bobadilla (2:59), Kaeden Langfitt (3:41), Abbas (:39), Erick Perez (2:51), Nelson (:26) and Chavez (2:00). Kirstein dominated for a 12-1 major decision, with fourth ranked Garrett Seaba doing the same for an 11-2 major win. Ethan Traub won 8-4 and Rafael Jimenez 4-2. Two others won by forfeit. Huntley took a win by fall in :26 in a JV match.
