Wright County 4-H hosted a Sewing and Knitting workshop in partnership with Sally’s Sewing Room located in Clarion. The workshop was held at Heartland Museum on February 6. Six youth participants spent the day learning to use a sewing machine, practicing knitting techniques and sewing pillowcases. All participants kept their knitting projects and the pillowcases were donated to the Lotus Community Project in Vincent, Iowa.
“4-H workshops are a great way for youth to learn new skills,” said Emily Zahurones, Wright County 4-H Youth Coordinator. “This workshop uniquely gave participants a chance to help their local communities through donations of pillowcases for charity and built learning around civic engagement and leadership.”
