75 band students from the CGD 6th, 7th, & 8th grade band participated in the 2021 MS Solo Festival. Judges for the event were Ryan Ringnalda and Rollie Jensen.
The Solo Festival was held on March 9, 11, and 12 at the Middle School during the school day, with family members encouraged to attend via Zoom. The students prepared a solo during lessons beginning in January to prepare for the event. On the day of the Festival, the judges gave the soloists written and verbal feedback on their performances, as well as some tips on playing their instruments.
The students earned 56 blue ribbons signifying a “Superior Performance”, 18 red ribbons meaning an “Excellent Performance”, and 2 white ribbons” for a “Good Performance”.
Additionally, several students received special recognition from the judges for being the “Outstanding Soloist” on their instrument family and in their grade level.
