In a meet last Tuesday at Clarmond, the Cowgirl golf team hosted Garner-Hayfield/Ventura and lost 224-258 to the visiting Cardinals. Nicole Waters led the team with a 60, and was joined in counting scores by Emily Christensen with 65, Karina Torres with 66 and Lauren Brooks with 67. Also turning in varsity rounds were Delia Swanson with 71 and Tessa Warnke with 72.
On Friday at Clarmond, the ladies hosted both Roland-Story and West Marshall. The Norsemen won with a 198, followed by the Trojans with 222 and the Cowgirls with 248. Counters for the team were Waters with 56, Christensen with 63, Torres with 64 and Brooks with 65. Also playing varsity rounds were Warnke (67) and Swanson (68).
“Our team score was 10 strokes lower than our Tuesday opener on the home course, with each girl cutting strokes off their individual totals,” said coach Denny March. Final scores for the JV were: Sawyer Morrical with 61, Reagan Goodell with 71, Julia Gardner with 75, Olyvia Olson with 79, Sydney Friesleben with 80 and Aysa Lyons with 84.
