The Cowgirls golf team finished fourth at a 2A regional hosted by them at Clarmond. Okoboji (Milford) took the team title with a 381 total. They were followed by: Iowa Falls-Alden 425, South Hamilton 438, C-G-D 446, Southeast Valley 469, South Central Calhoun 473, Emmetsburg 485 and Eagle Grove 506. Grace Butler of Okoboji was the individual champion with an 18-hole total of 84.
Karina Torres led the team with a 109, followed by Sawyer Morrical with a 110. Nicole Waters finished at 111, Delia Swanson and Emily Christensen both at 116 and Tessa Warnke at 124. “Nicole had her best nine-hole score of the year (49) on the back nine, and Sawyer also with a 50 on the back nine,” stated head coach Dennis March. “Comparing the first score of our season, and how they finished, showed the tremendous amount of improvement that was made. One part of our success was the steady play of seniors Nicole and Tessa. Five underclassmen, who contributed to the varsity success, will return next year along with the JV girls.”
