The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School Chorus earned a significant achievement a few weeks ago at Large Group State Contest: the highest rating available- a Division I Superior. Because the HS Chorus chose to compete virtually for Large Group Contest, they recorded their performance on Friday, May 7.
The three judges completed their judging late Monday night, May 10, and they awarded the CGD Mixed Chorus a unanimous Division I rating. The last time the mixed chorus received a Division I rating was 2016.
Congratulations to the High School Chorus for a superior performance. "The students were so happy when I announced their rating. I am so proud of them," commented vocal instructor David Ackerman. One of the students said, "What a way to go out, Mr. Ackerman." Mr. Ackerman retires at the end of the school year. "Thanks for the awesome memories," he remarked.
