Last Tuesday in Jewell, the Cowboy baseball team dropped a 16-0 game to South Hamilton. Preston Gardner smacked a double, with Porter Chase and Cael Chase reaching on singles for the only other connections. Damien Bjorklund and Nick Carpenter drew a walk each and Mason Allen was hit by a pitch to advance. Kaleb King reached on an error.
C. Chase threw for two innings, with three earned runs on seven hits. He walked three and struck out three. Preston Gardner pitched 1 1/3 innings, giving up six earned on six hits with two walks and one strikeout.
They traveled to Humboldt on Wednesday and last 16-3 to the Wildcats. They scored one in the first and two in the third, with Humboldt up 7-3 entering the bottom of the fourth when they exploded for nine more runs to put it away.
They hosted West Fork on Thursday and last 16-0 to the Warhawks. Gardner and King singled for the only hits, while Bjorklund drew two free passes to first base. Foss, Jackson and Carpenter took one walk each. Martinez took the loss, pitching 1/3 inning with two earned on five hits. He walked five batters. King came in for 2 2/3 innings, allowing four earned on seven hits with two walks and two strikeouts.
They finished the week with a 14-3 home loss to Webster City. Those final stats were not yet available.
