Bre Wagner excited about being a fair board member

Bre Wagner starts a three-year term as one of two new Wright County District Junior Fair board members, and she looks forward to fulfilling her new duties as much as she looks forward to the fair itself. “It’s a great fair, and I’m excited to learn more and to get involved in this way,” said Wagner. Th

ere’s something for everyone at this fair, and I’m blown away by the variety of entertainment we have.” Wagner is originally from Prairie City, and graduated from PCM (includes Monroe) high school. She now resides with her husband Aaron and two-year old son Abe. She was involved in both 4-H and FFA herself, showing cattle and pigs along with doing Share the Fun. She hopes Abe will want to do the same someday.

In fact, that involvement is what prompted her to take a board seat.

“I wanted to give back to a fair that helped me improve my skills,” said Wagner. “I learned a lot in that way, and want to give the kids now the same opportunity. I truly didn’t realize what I was gaining until later in life.”

She has not been ‘on board’ long, but has already been named as a swine show superintendent. That seems to fit well with her favorite part of the fair. “I like walking through the barns and seeing their projects,” said Wagner. She is employed by the Iowa Soybean Association as a producer service coordinator. In her free time, she enjoys just hanging out spending quality time with her family.

Wagner hopes to see all of you at the fair, and encourages you to come as it’s only here for one week a year. “There’s something for all ages,” she said. “Look over the schedule, as there’s a variety of opportunities. We’re coming back stronger and even better than ever!”
