Wet, Wild and Wacky 4-H Day Camp held July 19

The Wright County 4-H program hosted a day camp for kindergarten and first grade youth titled “Wet, Wild and Wacky” on Monday, July 19 from 8:30am – 4:30pm at the Swimming Pool Park in Clarion. A total of 14 youth spent the day making bubbles, playing water games and, having fun outside in the warm weather. All youth were encouraged in friendly competition throughout the day.

“Summer day camps are a great way for youth to build friendships with their peers and engage in constructive team building activities,” said Emily Zahurones, Wright County 4-H Youth Coordinator. “It is the hope that these kids will remember how much fun a 4-H summer day camp was and be encouraged to join in the 4-H program when they’re old enough.”

Throughout the day, youth had the opportunity to compete in a marshmallow stacking competition, play unique games of tag and face off in water gun races. Into the heat of the afternoon, youth were able to compete in fun water games including relay races, wet musical chairs, water balloon tossing and making their own bubbles using dish soap and corn syrup.
