Unforced errors led to a short night in a home match with Webster City, resulting in a 3-0 Lynx win by scores of 25-17, 25-19 and 25-22. Team serving was at 81.4 percent, with Lexie Lane good on 12 of 13 from the serve line and three aces. Nikki Kapka went 11 of 12 (one), Brooke Askelsen 10 of 10 (two), Karlee Lehman 8 of 8, Clarissa Hasty 6 of 6 and Emma State 1 of 1.
Kapka and Lehman set for seven assists each, with Indy Johnson making five and Lane one. Lane reached double digits in kills with 11, followed by Kennedy Trca at four and both Hasty and Johnson at two each. Kapka and Summer Traub pounded one kill each over the net.
Askelsen finished with 14 digs and Lane with 13, followed by Hasty with nine, Johnson and Kapka with five each and Lehman at four saves of the ball. Lane and Trca had two solo blocks each on net defense, with Kapka, Delia Swanson and Traub chipping in one apiece, Hasty made a block assist.
“We came out and were off our game a little,” stated head coach Katrina TerHark. “We had chances to pull ahead, or we had the lead and needed to keep the lead. We’ve been working on playing and practicing to be consistent. We know what we need to do and we have the skills. We just had too many unforced errors to win. For us not playing well, we still had the opportunity to get the win.”
