Cross country team opens at Southeast Valley

Some very nice weather greeted the Cowgirl and Cowboy cross country team as they traveled to Gowrie Country Club in a meet hosted by Southeast Valley. The St. Edmond Gaels won the girls team title with a low of 54 points, followed in the top five of nine teams by Manson NW Webster with 63, West Central Valley with 88, Perry with 112 and South Central Calhoun with 114.

The Cowgirls did not field enough runners for a team score. Makayla Pulido finished 47th in 28:14.28, while Lauren Hansch came home 72nd in 38:31.55.

Adair Casey-Guthrie Center won the boys crown with a low of 34 points, and were followed by Ogden at 50, St. Edmond at 85, Southeast Valley at 115 and Manson NW Webster at 155. The Cowboys were ninth of 10 teams with a 216 total.

Chris Greenfield was the top finisher at 20:55.65 for 24th place. He was followed by teammates Jacob Ingebritson at 20:55.65 for 34th;Nick Carpenter at  22:40.44 for 63rd; Luke Brownell at 23:12.45 for 71st; Thomas Klaver at 24:13.18 for 91st; Ethan Boots at 25:18.52 for 106th; Jackson Beisel at 25:22.64 for 107th and Josh Moore at 28:47.99 for 121st.
