Last Tuesday the C-G-D cross country team took part in the Belmond-Klemme Invitational held at the golf course east of Belmond. Roland-Story took the girls title with 35 points, followed in the top five by Clear Lake at 50, Garner-Hayfield/Ventura at 110, West Fork at 112 and Hampton-Dumont/CAL at 121 points. Lily Nelson of Forest City took the individual top spot in 21:07. McKayla Pulido led the way in 67th at 27:41. Next came Ashley Fennel at 67th in 28:54 and Emalyn Nel at 87th in 32:08.
On the boys side it was Clear Lake taking the team crown at 46 points, barely finishing ahead of Forest City with 48. The rest of the top five were Hampton-Dumont/CAL with 93, Eagle Grove with 119 and Roland-Story with 135. The Cowboys were eighth with 208.
Jacob Ingebritson took 27th in 20:49, followed by Chris Greenfield at 36th in 21:10, Nick Carpenter at 62nd in 22:46, Luke Brownell at 64th in 22:49, Jackson Beisel at 85th in 23:51, Tate Jackson at 97th in 24:48, Rthan Boots at 100th in 25:01, Thomas Klaver at 106th in 25:44, Josh Moore at 116th in 26:48 and Jacob Wharton at 138th in 31:58.
