Cross country team visits Osage, C. Lake

The team competed at Osage on Tuesday, with Crestwood (Cresco) taking the girls team title followed by Newman Catholic and Nashua-Plainfield. The Cowgirls were ninth in the final standings.

Ashley Fennel was the top finisher at 59th in 28:34.67. Following her were: Madison Ingebritson at 61st 28:46.93, Emalyn Nel at 64th in 29:4785, Lauren Hansch at 69th in 33:48.57 and Natasha Johnson at 70th in 33:48.97.

New Hampton won the boys title with the Chickasaws scoring the low of 66 points. They were followed by Newman Catholic and Forest City. The Cowboys were tenth.

Jacob Ingebritson paced the team with a 28th place at the finish line in 19:57.01. Behind him were: Chris Greenfield in 36th with 20:30.15, Luke Brownell in 55th with 21:54.37, Nick Carpenter in 57th with 22:01.92, Ethan Boots in 70th with 23:54.03 and Thomas Klaver in 73rd with 24:05.55.

At Clear Lake on Thursday it was Ames taking the girls team title at just 24 points, followed by Clear Lake at 103 and Newman Catholic at 109. Claire Helmers of the Little Cyclones crossed in 19:00.69 for first place as they had six of their runners at 13th or better.

The Cowgirls were 12th as a team, with Fennel 66th in 27:58.5 for the top finisher. She was followed by: Pulido at 70th in 28:20.25, Ingebritson at 77th in 29:16.06, Nel at 83rd in 30:51.92, Johnson at 86th in 35:38.01 and Hansch at 88th in 37:10.34.

On the boys side, it was Ames also taking that title at 32 points followed by Clear Lake at 67 and Forest City at 99. The Cowboys were 13th as a team.

Greenfield paced them with a 50th place in 20:22.23. Behind him were Ingebritson at 55th in 20:35.22, Carpenter at 75th in 21:51.82, Brownell at 79th in 22:10.78, Boots at 92nd in 24:34.50, Jackson Beisel at 95th in 25:20.85 and Klaver 96th in 26:48.27.

Middle school runners finishes for the girls were as follows: Kennedy Hoesing 54th in 20:53.42, Neveah Torres 76th in 26:12.81 and Kenna Chapman 78th in 26:29.95. The boys team had the following cometing: Logan Legleiter 61st in 17:03.75, Nik Solis 78th in 19:15.20, Crew Garza 88th in 20:08.27 and Silas Lantzky 103rd in 23:37.02.
