Cross country team runs at Humboldt

After being postponed a day by weather issues, the Humboldt Invitational was held Tuesday at Sheldon Park. The girls varsity team title went to St. Edmond with 62 points, followed in the top five of 13 complete teams by Clear Lake with 74, Manson NW Webster with 119, Humboldt with 130 and Algona with 139. Moriah Knapp of Algona finished in 20:31.04 to take the race. The Cowgirls were 12th as a team.

Ashley Fennel paced them with a 26:32.06 for 63rd place. She was followed just a few spots behind by Makayla Pulido in 73rd at 27:11.27. After her it was Madison Ingebritson in 77th with 27:33.82, Emalyn Nel in 86th with 28:49.73 and Lauren Hansch in 94th with 35:48.69.

Middle school runners finishes were as follows: Kennedy Hoesing 53rd in 20:05.33, Neveah Torres 77th in 25:05.84, Kenna Chapman 81st in 26:11.39 and Gracie Claggett 83rd in 26:21.27.

The boys team title went to Clear Lake with 39 points, followed in the top five of 16 complete teams by St. Edmond with 118, Humboldt with 140, Algona with 170 and Pocahontas Area with 174 points. Ryan Stundahl of Algona crossed first in 18:03.78.

The Cowboys were led home by Jacob Ingebritson in 36th with 20:07.52. Following him were Chris Greenfield in 60th with 21:05.93, Luke Brownell in 82nd with 22:18.21, Nick Carpenter in 84th with 22:19.95, Ethan Boots in 95th with 24:05.32, Tate Jackson in 98th with 24:22.25 and Josh Moore in 99th with 24:29.34.

Boys JV finishes were as follows: Thomas Klaver 31st in 23:10.42, Jackson Beisel 38th in 23:34.35, Jacob Wharton 59th in 26:14.80 and Russbel Garcia 69th in 28:40.78. Boys middle school finishes were: Christopher Matul 17th in 14:14.42, Logan Legleiter 76th in 17:44.77, Nik Solis 89th in 18:43.41, Crew Garza 93rd in 19:14.06 and Silas Lantzky 111th in 22:12.75.
