Wright County Shooters hold their September event

The Wright County Shooting Association held their most recent competition shoot on September 26 at the gun range east of Clarion on Reed Avenue. Organizer Lynn Barz reports another great day with 13 shooters and 26 total guns. Three new shooters were involved, and a new class called Pcc was added to the program.

In the limited class, the win went to Justin Kirechhoff with 238 total points in a time of 40.12. He had no penalties for a final score of 5.93. Second went to Mike Townsend with 220 points in 37.24. He had 15 in penalties for a score of 5.50. Third was Cody Larue with 229 points in 40.01. He had 10 in penalties for a score of 5.47. Others in the class and their scores were Patrick Paterson (4.83), Bill Holden (4.77), Zack Martz (4.18), Pat Starr (3.94), Lynn Barz (2.47), Jennilee Townsend (2.30) and Lisa Dvorak (2.05).

In the open class, the winner was M. Townsend with 228 points in 35.68. He had five in penalties for a score of 6.25. Second was Larue with 179 points in 40.70. He had 55 in penalties for a score of 3.04. Taking third was J. Townsend with 213 points in 84.86. She had five in penalties for a score of 2.45. Other scores were Barz (2.09) and Dvorak (1.66).

In the optic class it was M. Townsend again the winner with 240 points in 42.13. He had no penalties for a score of 5.70. Second was Jim Mertz with 247 points in 42.21. He had 20 in penalties for a score of 5.38. Third went to Larue with 224 points in 56.47. He had five in penalties for a score of 3.88. Also competing were Z. Mertz (2.88) and J. Townsend (1.56).
