Cowgirls sweep the Gaels last Thursday

Last Thursday was the last time that seven Cowgirl senior volleyball players would take their home court. The team took on the St. Edmond Gaels to good result, sweeping their opponents in three sets by scores of 25-12, 25-21, 25-15.

Game leaders were Indy Johnson with 10 assists, Lexie Lane with 6 kills, Summer Traub with 2 blocks, Brooke Askelsen with 13 digs and Summer Traub with a serving percentage of 90%

Coach Katrina TerHark said, “The Cowgirls came out ready to go. We played relaxed and with confidence tonight. It was great to see the girls play as a team and start to build some momentum for next week against G-H-V and Humboldt. We have an opportunity to tie for first in conference with Humboldt and Webster City so we need to continue to build on the positives. 

This was the last home game for seniors, Brooke Askelsen, Lauren Brooks, McKayla Johnson, Nikki Kapka, Jordyn Roosa, Delia Swanson and Summer Traub.

Last Thursday’s game took the Cowgirls to an overall record of 17-13 and a conference record of 5-1. The Cowgirls last game of the regular season is Thursday night, October 14 versus Humboldt.
