CGD Cross Country competes at home NCC meeting at Oak Ridge

As the cross country season nears its end, the CGD runners got to stay close to home for last week’s North Central Conference meet. Oak Ridge in Dows was the site of the conference event on Tuesday.

In the girls varsity event, St. Edmond claimed the conference title, followed by Clear Lake and Humboldt. Freshmen runner Addison Doughan from Clear Lake placed highest individually with a time of 19:35.

The CGD girls were led by sophomore Ashley Fennel who came in 34th with a time of 24:49. The other four CGD runners took 48th through 51st. Respective runners and times: Emalyn Nel- 28:11, Madison Ingebritson-28:11, Makayla Pulido-29:01, Natasha Johnson-30:29.

On the varsity boys side of things, Clear Lake took the NCC title, followed by Humboldt and St. Edmond. CGD’s fastest runner was Jacob Ingebritson, claiming 33rd place with a time of 19:48.

Christopher Greenfield took 37th with 19:55. Other CGD runners: Thomas Klaver (45th, 21:23), Luke Brownell (49th, 21:44), Ethan Boots, (50th, 22:33), Tate Jackson (52nd, 22:56) and Joshua Moore (54th, 23:16).

CGD JV boys runners also competed. Jackson Beisel took 35th in that race with a time of 22:54. Jacob Wharton came in 40th at 23:18 and Russbel Garcia was at 53rd with 26:43.

Middle school teams competed at the event as well. In the girls 2 mile, CGD middle school runners included Kennedy Hoesing (24th, 18:41), Neveah Torres (29th, 23:36), Tessa Waddingham (30th, 23:37), Gracie Claggett (31st, 25:06), Kenna Chapman (32nd, 25:07).

CGD Middle School boys had a solid group of runners. These included Logan Legleiter (33rd, 17:27), Landon Munoz (35th, 18:25), Nik Solis (36th, 19:25), Christopher Madrigales (40th, 22:09), and Silas Lantzky (41st, 22:10).

Though the middle school cross country season has come to a close, varsity runners will run at Districts at Dike-New Hartford on October 21.
