Clarion and Belmond Fiber projects now complete

Communications 1, with its headquarters in Kanawha Iowa has been investing heavily in Wright County, Iowa.  Comm1, as it is better known, is a 122year-old company that started as Norway Rural Telephone.  Throughout the last 40      years, it concentrated on expanding throughout the neighboring communities, eventually reaching Hwy 18 with fiber in Britt and Garner, Iowa.

In 2019, after many years of community meetings, it elected to begin its overbuild of Belmond, a project that it completed in 2021.

Also in 2021, Communications 1 completed the purchase of Goldfield Telephone and Goldfield Access Network, a local company that has service in Humboldt, Dakota City, Renwick, Goldfield, Clarion and Eagle Grove.

Comm1 instantly showed a local touch by committing to the complete fiber-to-the-home construction of Clarion and Eagle Grove over a projected 5-to-6-year period.  Feb 1,2022 marked the completion of the Clarion build, providing fiber throughout the city limits.  Crews are already hired and scheduled to begin the Eagle Grove overbuild during the summer of 2022.   The Communications 1 investment in Wright County is in excess of 15 million dollars, helping supply rural Iowa with state-of-the-art fiber services.

Communications 1 offers digital television, internet and phone service to over 7,500 customers across its 4 counties and 12 communities.    They can be reached at www.comm1net.net
