Clarion Coin Club hosts its 75th show

On Saturday, April 9 the Clarion Coin Club hosted its annual spring show. This show is one of the oldest in the state since its start in 1958.  There are 66 club members who drive from all over the state to attend the club meetings.  Most dealers are from other Iowa towns like Ames, Fort Dodge, Ankeny, Charles City, Marshalltown, Belmond plus Sedalia, Missouri.  Admission is free and the weather was great, so the show attracted many. They gave away hourly SILVER half dollars with a final raffle of a 1/10 oz. GOLD piece. North Iowa Coins brought a several WAR NICKELS to give to the kids who came with their parents as well as free coin books and free membership to the club for the rest of 2022.

The Clarion club meets once per month on the fourth Thursday of each month with the exception of Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Meetings are held at the Heartland Museum with an 80 item auction every month. They welcome new members. A Ladies Group was started by Mary LaRue in 2015 and is still growing.

The next show will be the annual FALL show to be held on September 17. Come one, come all and let's have a ball . . .
