Cowgirls track at first outdoor meet in Webster City
Trca and Beisel bring home first place medals
In their first outdoor meet, the Cowgirls track team traveled to Webster City on Thursday, April 21. The team came in third with 78 points behind Clear Lake and Webster City.
The Cowgirls racked up a few first place medals. Junior Kennedy Trca came out first in the 100-meter hurdles with a 16.00. Mikayla Beisel was first in the 400-meter hurdles with 1:11.80 and the high jump with 5-02.00. She was also second in the 100-meter hurdles with 16.3. The 400M Shuttle Hurdle Relay team earned a first place medal with a 1:12.80 time (runners- Mikayla Beisel, Clarrisa Hasty, Ezra Heifner, Kennedy Trca). The 4X200M Relay took first as well at 1:54.70 (runners- Jorja Fulk, Heifner, Kennedy Jackson, Clarrisa Hasty).
In other notable finishes- Trca took second in the long jump with a jump of 14-08.25. Harley Charlson came in fourth in the 800-meter run at 2:38.50. Hasty earned fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with 1:18 time. Fulk came in fifth in the 200-meter run with 28.20. Ellie Mewes’ discus throw of 72-09 earned her fifth place.

Trca has another strong meet
On Friday, the Cowgirls track team headed up the highway for a meet at Belmond-Klemme. The ‘girls came in fourth place out of six teams with 48 points. South Hamilton won the meet by a wide margin.
CGD took home several first place medals at the meet. Junior Kennedy Trca won a couple individual events including the 100M Hurdles with a time of 17.28. She took first in the long jump with a distance of 14-10.25. Trca was also part of the winning 400M Shuttle Hurdle Relay with a time of 1:13.20 (runners- Beisel, Hasty, Heifner, Trca).
In other finishes that earned points for CGD, Mikayla Beisel took second place in the high jump with a jump of 5-00 and third in the 100M hurdles at 18.25. Jorja Fulk came in second in the 200 m dash with 28.49. The team of Fulk, Kennedy Jackson, Ezra Heifner, Clarrisa Hasty came in second in the 4X200M Relay with 1:58.40. Harley Charlson again took fourth in the 800-meter run at 2:52.77.
