The Cowboys track team struggle to rack up the points against a strong field at last Thursday’s North Central Conference Championship meet at Iowa Falls-Alden. The ‘boys came in eight with the home team taking first. Overall team scores: 1- Clear Lake, 150.00; 2- Algona, 110.00; 3- Humboldt, 104.00; 4- Webster City, 98.00; 5- Ia Falls-Alden-93.00; 6- Hampton-Dumont-CAL, 77.00; St. Edmond, FD -65.00; 8- Clarion-Goldfd-Dows, 44.00.
For individual placers, Nevan Foss jumped to third in the high jump with a 5-8.00. Though he didn’t put together his best performance, Mason Allen still placed fourth in the discus with 138-07. Jacob Ingebritson took fourth in the 200m dash with a (24.40), Connor State earned a sixth in the 110m hurdles (16.89). Brandon Zigrang brought in a couple points with a seventh place finish in the long jump (16-11.75). Nick Sisson’s shot put throw of 40-8.5 earned him seventh.
The best relay team performance for the Cowboys was a second place finish in the shuttle hurdle relay with a time of 1:05.15. Runners were Foss, Aidan Harrington, Preston Gardner and State. The 4x100m relay team took fifth with 45.68 (runners- Rigo Bobadilla, State, Foss, Harrington). The 800 sprint medley relay team took sixth (Landon Olson, Harrington, Ingebritson, Bobadilla). The 4×200 team took seventh (Ingebritson, Bobadilla, Foss, Harrington). The 4×400 team took seventh (Alex Greving, Ingebritson, Diego Gonzalez, Bobadilla). The 1600 distance medley team also took seventh (Olson, Gonzalez, Bryce Lindaman, Greving). The 4×800 took eighth.
