Editor Amanda Rink met with Bailey Pavelka, the Bold Owner Behind The New Western Boutique in Clarion, Iowa.
When someone considers a Western Bombshell, one might think of ‘Daisy Duke’ from the Dukes of Hazzard. Bailey Pavelka wants those who come to her new western boutique, The Branded Bombshell, to leave feeling like a bombshell. The styles that owner Bailey is offering have come a long way since 1979 when Daisy Duke’s Western wear was made mainstream.
Bailey is not new to the Western scene by any means. As a young girl growing up in Minnesota, she was often found at local rodeos when she was not helping her family tend to their own horses and livestock. While at the rodeos, young Bailey fell in love with the Western style. “I will always believe there is something romantic about the Western way of life,” Bailey expressed.
Bailey is not alone in this feeling. Western styles tend to be versatile. The wide-legged jeans that fill Bailey’s pink, sassy boutique can be worn with boots to work with your animals or paired with high heels for a cute date night outfit. This is probably why the Western style is trendy in our rural area. The Branded Bombshell mainly has women’s and girl’s styles; “You might be able to find some men’s and boy’s clothing around Christmas,” the owner shares enthusiastically.
Bailey decided to plant her roots in Clarion after meeting her fiancé, Grant Sebby. The couple lives just outside of Holmes with their daughter, Laikynn. Pavelka saw the need for a trendy and affordable clothing store in our area. Bailey and Grant got to work renovating Sebby’s machine shed to fit both of their business endeavors.
“Find yourself a handyman and just go for it!” Bailey stated when asked what advice she has for other women pursuing their own businesses. Bailey didn’t just have the support of her own personal handyman but from his parents as well. Bailey is extra thankful for her soon-to-be in-laws, Scott and Deb Sebby, as they offered her this opportunity by allowing the use of their building. She states that without the support of her family, her vision for The Branded Bombshell wouldn’t have been possible. Bailey keeps busy in her personal life as well as professionally. She and her fiancé Grant are planning their 2024 wedding and are in the process of renovating their house.
Bailey wants women to feel beautiful and ready to take on the world after finding a bombshell outfit at her boutique. You can find whatever fits your fancy on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m at the Branded Bombshell, 1412 Central Ave West in Clarion, Iowa.
