Annual Thanksgiving Meal Embraces the Spirit of Togetherness

With the Thanksgiving holiday upon us, the First Lutheran Church and the Clarion Ministerial Association are excited to host their annual Thanksgiving Day Community meal. The First Lutheran Church will host the meal on Thursday, November 23rd. There is no fee for the meal that begins at 11:00 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m.

The gathering has been a hallmark of our community since its creation several years ago.  "This is not just for those 'in need' during the Thanksgiving holiday; it is for everyone," shared Angela Charlson, one of the key organizers of the event.

The meal, which has transitioned from its original location at the high school to the First Lutheran Church, will offer the traditional Thanksgiving spread, with turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, and dessert selections.

Volunteers are the backbone of this initiative, and their contributions in various roles, from food preparation to serving, are crucial to making the event a success.  Volunteers are needed to make the meal happen; such as servers for the food, milk, and coffee, greeters, carry-out helpers, preparing food items the morning of, baking and donating desserts and cutting the desserts and prepping plates,” shared Angela Charlson with the Wright County Monitor.

Those who are unable to attend the gathering in person are able to request carry-out meals.  The carryout meals will be available for pick-up on the south side of the Gold Eagle Coop office.

With the promise of heartfelt fellowship and the spirit of giving at its core, the Thanksgiving Day community meal at the First Lutheran Church is promised to be a heartwarming celebration of gratitude and faith.

Whether contributing, volunteering, or attending, the community's support will undoubtedly make a difference this Thanksgiving season. For further details, interested parties can scan the QR code that accompanies this article, or contact Angela Charlson at pattersondbla@hotmail.com.
