Clarion, Iowa – With less than a year of the presidential election election left, David Stuckenberg, of Florida, has thrown his hat in the ring. David Stuckenberg, “one of the nation’s most premiere national security strategists”, a business owner and veteran, met with the Wright County Monitor on a windy November afternoon during his all-Iowa county tour.
Stuckenberg shared firstly that he is not a career politician but someone who is dedicated to the truth and, according to him, that is what the country needs. I watched the presidential hopeful walk out of his black SUV, trailed by two children who set off to deliver his information on main street, before our interview. The only thing that set the man apart from the other citizens on the street was the blazer and button-up.
The man I met with was recognized as a "Young Disruptor" by NATO. He was likened to "the George Kennan of this century" and called "a National Treasure" by senior military and intelligence figures.
Stuckenberg has background in nuclear weapons treaties and critical infrastructure. His defense research and strategies have influenced the U.S. Congress, Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the White House. During his time at the Department of State, he served as a Military Advisor and Subject Matter Expert.
Stuckenberg shared that he aligns most with George Washington, emphasizing shared power within government bodies. This fits well within his narrative as he announced his run in Plymouth, Massachusetts due to the history it holds for our nation.
Stuckenberg, funding his campaign through grassroots, values the Republican party's principles. He shared that faith is his moral guide, not big companies who donate to his campaign. The notion of separation of church and state is something he does not agree with. He feels separation of church and state is not what the country was based on, to begin with.
On social issues, he labels questions about civil rights, abortion, LGBTQ+ rights, and gender equality as "wedge issues." He considers these issues to be brought up often to divide the American people as “united we stand, divided we fall.” Stuckenberg urges unity on common ground.
Stuckenberg considers federal intervention in state matters, like abortion, is inappropriate. Stuckenberg did share his pro-life stance. He states that it is rooted in personal experience but allows for differing views.
As a national security strategist, he sees China as the primary adversary to America. Concerned about a socialist shift, Stuckenberg criticizes Trump's administration for dysfunction and further separating our nation. Stuckenberg pledges to form a cohesive team and unify the nation by forming a “turnaround team”.
Stuckenberg identified three immediate priorities during his meeting with me:
a prevention-based national security strategy, economic revitalization through a 33% tax cut modeled after Regan era tax cuts, and solving immigration by deploying troops to seal north and south borders and implementing a registration system for undocumented individuals.
