The Goldfield Commercial Club has recently changed to a community club. The original mission of the Commercial Club was to “promote new businesses and support existing businesses in Goldfield”. The purpose of the club is to stay the same. However, the club has now expanded to involve the entire community. The Community Club will be responsible for planning community-wide events. If you have questions about joining the Goldfield Community Club, contact Lynn Seaba at 515-603-9006.
Another way the Goldfield community is coming together is to support John Lloyd during his fight against cancer. Lloyd was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. While targeted radiation and chemotherapy will prevent cancer from spreading, Lloyd will probably always have cancer, shared his wife Linda Lloyd with the Wright County Monitor.
John and Linda share two adult daughters. Goldfield Legion Post 370 is hosting the free-will donation meal at 509 Main Street in Goldfield. The meal will feature pulled pork, coleslaw, chips, bars, and refreshments, beginning at 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Coffee will be served as well. The funds raised will be used to pay for Llyod’s medical costs.
Before you head over to Llyod’s for lunch, stop at the Fireman’s Omelet Brunch. The crew is serving up made-to-order omelets starting at 8:30 A.M. They request an $8.00 per plate donation. If you have Goldfield news, please share it with news@wrightcountymonitor.com.
