Republican Kevin Virgil is a father, a veteran, an entrepreneur, a fifth-generation Iowan, and a former CIA case officer. Virgil shared with Sioux Center News that attempts to use eminent domain against landowners spurred him to pursue the political landscape. Virgil is running in opposition Feenstra. Democrat Ryan Melto lives in Nevada and works as an insurance supervisor. “We need to fund Iowa schools and provide adequate pay, resources, and support to our teachers,” the Democrat shared.
