April 17, 2024 (Wright County, Iowa) – This month’s 4-H Clover Kids theme was all about plants!
Youth learned about the parts of a plant, the importance of soil health, and had the opportunity to plant seeds of
their own. The Clover Kids played a matching game of the parts of a plant and their roles. The
kids were very excited to plant seeds of their own! The Wright County 4-H Endowment donated
little planters and seeds for this project. For snack, we learned that we can eat a every part of a
plant; sunflower seeds, broccoli, celery, and carrots. Clover Kids enjoyed story time, snacks,
playing a game.
“This month’s Clover Kids was focused on plants. This warmer weather is a great time to
introduce the parts of a plant with planting season right around the corner. The Clover Kids
were surprised they can eat all parts of a plant.” K-12 Program Coordinator Paige Dagel
