Last Friday, two Clarion-Goldfield-Dows upperclassmen competed at the Iowa High School Track & Field Championships held at the historic Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
Senior discus thrower Mason Allen represented the Cowboys and junior high jumper MaKayla Beisel represented the Cowgirls after earning trips to state in their respective field events.
Two-time qualifier Mason Allen’s first throw of 144’6” was his best of the day. He finished in 13th place and closed out his high school track career on a high note.
Three-time qualifier MaKayla Beisel cleared 4’10” in the 2A girls high jump and tied for 18th place.
