(Clarion,IA) – The Memorial Day service at Clarion Goldfield Dows High School on May 27 was attended by a large crowd of veterans, families, and friends who paused their lives to remember those who lost their lives in service to our country.
Randy Ebert, the author of "A Day In The Life", recalled incidents of soldiers' emotional stories from his book. Service organization members laid wreaths on the mock grave remembering those who died.
The firing squad gave a 21-gun salute, and the color guard retired the colors. This yearly service is coordinated by the American Legion and VFW of Clarion.
