Three Cowboy and Cowgirl summer athletes earned spots on their respective North Central Conference All-Conference squads after outstanding seasons on the diamond.
Senior Carson Nesheim was named to the First-Team this season after earning a spot on the Third-Team a year ago. The pitcher was 5-4 in 11 starts and struck out a school record and conference best 120 batters. Nesheim, who boasted a 2.39 ERA, also threw a perfect game in a road game against Southeast Valley. As a batter, he led the Cowboys with 5 doubles and his .293 average was the second best on the team.
Fellow senior Mason Allen landed a spot on the Second-Team for the first All-Conference honor of his baseball career. The catcher hit .231 with 14 RBIs and 3 doubles, and had a fielding percentage of .968 for CGD. As a pitcher, Allen was 1-0 with a save in five appearances.
Cowgirl softball player Tess Wibholm was named to the NCC’s Third-Team after a stellar sophomore campaign. The pitcher started 19 games for the Cowgirls and struck out 89 opposing batters. Tess was 7th in the conference in innings pitched and 4th in strikeouts.
