Area counties outperformed the latest state jobs report.
The latest report has Wright County at 2.4 percent to lead the region.

Franklin County came in at 2.6 percent, tying Hamilton County while Hardin County stood at 2.7 percent.
Grundy County came in at 2.8 percent while Butler County was at three percent even.
Statewide, Iowa climbed from 3.1 to 3.2 percent while Marshall County the highest in the state at 6.4 percent and
Crawford County is second highest at 5.3 percent.
Sioux County at 1.6 percent was the lowest in the state.

“December’s report shows modest growth as a result of hiring across most parts of the Iowa economy, and
employers added 4,000 jobs,” said Beth Townsend, Executive Director of Iowa Workforce Development. “The
increase in labor force participation was driven largely by college graduates who quickly decided to enter our
workforce. With over 50,000 open jobs in Iowa, there is still an abundance of opportunities for graduates and other
Iowans looking for their next job.”
