The Dows City Council met in regular session at 6:00 p.m. on March 3, 2025 at Dows City HalLwith the following present: Council Members Worden, Echelberger, Lienemann, Plendl, Russell and Mayor Klatt. Also present: Sam Solis-City Maintenance.
Motion by Russell, seconded by Echelberger to approve the minutes from the February 3, 2025 council meeting. Motion carried. All ayes.

Motion by Worden, seconded by Echelberger to approve the Clerk’s Repo rt for January 2025. Motion carried. All ayes . Receipts for January 2025-$40,260.07. Expenses for January 2025 – $38,572.91.
Bids were opened for tearing down the building at 313 N. Garfield St. B i d from Rodney Claude was $11,650.00 and bid from Hennigar Construction was $10,400.00. Motion by Lienemann, seconded by Plendl to take the low bid from Hennigar Constr u ction for $10,400.00. Motion carried. All ayes. Council wanted to make sure the water and sewer were capped off in this building if possible.
Motion by Lienemann, seconded by Worden to set the budget Amendment for fiscal year 2024-2025 for April 7 th , 2025 at 6:00 p.m. Motion carried. All ayes.
Motion by Worden, seconded by Plendl to approve the first reading of Or di nance No. 217 ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DOWS, IOWA, 2021, BY AMENDING PROVISIONS PERTAINING TO WATER RATES FOR WATER SERVICE. Roll Call Vote-Ayes: Lienemann, Worden, Plendl, Echelberger, Russell. Nays: none.
Motion by Lienemann, seconded by Plendl to approve the first reading of ordinance No. 218 ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DOWS, IOWA, 2021, BY AMENDING PROVISIONS PERTAINING TO WATER DEPOSITS. Roll Call Vote-Ayes: Lienemann, Worden, Plendl, Echelberger, Russell. Nays-none.
Motion by Lienemann, seconded by Russell to approve a building perm i t for 20’x13′ carport. Motion carried. All ayes.
There being no further business, Mayor Klatt adjourned the meeting.
