On April 8, the CGDHS boys track and field squad competed in Wright County at the 65th annual Umstead Relays hosted by Eagle Grove. Athletes contended with a 15 mph wind late in the afternoon, but spectators from Algona, Eagle Grove, Forest City, Iowa Falls, Humboldt, Webster City, Belmond-Klemme, Central Springs, Lake Mills, Manson Northwest Webster, Newman Catholic, St. Edmond, and West Hancock still packed the stands to watch their schools go head to head.
The Cowboys finished 6th in Class A with 23 team points. Algona (145), Humboldt (131), and Webster City (99) all placed in the top-3.
