Iowa Specialty Hospital Unveils Renovated Clinic in Clarion

April 30, 2025 – After more than a year of extensive remodeling, Iowa Specialty Hospital (ISH) in Clarion is sharing its fresh new look. Last Wednesday, the hospital invited the public in for a tour of the updated space, offering a closer look at what’s changed.
The most noticeable transformation is within the family practice clinic, a familiar stop for many. Patients arriving for wellness checks or routine care will now be greeted by a brighter, more inviting waiting and registration area. Framed photos of the doctors personalize the space, a new registration desk streamlines check-ins, a thoughtful coffee bar offering up the same coffee patients know and love, plus a revamped children’s corner offering something for even the smallest of those seeking care.
Sara Abbas, a nurse at the hospital, led the redesign of the kids’ area, giving it a playful fish theme to coordinate with the popular saltwater aquarium. The new cubby is stocked with board books, and toys to help make waiting a little easier for young visitors.
Other additions include a nurse visit room, for quick check-ins, and an expanded behavioral health department. A newly enhanced maternity suite also signals the hospital’s commitment to growing families in and around the Clarion area. Every inch of the renovated space seems designed with comfort and efficiency in mind.
The tour wrapped up with something sweet.. delicious treats baked by the hospital’s kitchen staff.
