The Cowgirl golf team had two meets late last week against conference opponents.
On Friday at River Road Golf Club in Algona, C-G-D faced off against Humboldt and Algona.
Blaire Askelsen was the top Cowgirl performer with a score of 54 for 9th overall. Senior Jordyce Duncalf finished 12th with a score of 60, and Claire Kirstein came in 14th with a 62 through 9 holes. Sophomore Quinn Brooks shot a 74 to bring the team’s final score to 250. Algona won with a team score of 188, followed by Humboldt with 213.
On Saturday morning, the Cowgirls hosted Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, Eagle Grove, and Lake Mills at Clarmond Country Club.
The girls golfed 18 holes, and Askelsen was once again C-G-D’s top player. The sophomore tied for 8th with a score of 105. Maddie Askvig (13th/113), Duncalf (17th/122) and Kirstein (19th/131) all scored for the Cowgirls and brought the team total to 471. G-H-V (385), Eagle Grove (410), and Lake Mills (414) took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at the tournament.
