4H Horse Show Practices Start This Week

EAGLE GROVE, Iowa — Wright County 4-H members will have a chance to saddle up starting this Wednesday as horse show practices return to the Wright County Fairgrounds Horse Arena in Eagle Grove. The weekly sessions will take place each Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at 901 SE 1st Street.

Practices are scheduled throughout May and June, with dates including May 7, 14, 21 and 28, and June 4, 11, 18 and 25. Participants must be registered Wright County 4-H members, and safety rules require all riders to wear helmets when mounted.

Updates on weather-related cancellations will be posted on the Wright County 4-H Facebook page. All participants are expected to follow 4-H Equine Guidelines, available at the Iowa State University Extension website.

To participate, youth must be registered Wright County 4-H members and are required to wear a helmet at all times while mounted. Attendees should keep an eye on the Wright County 4-H Facebook page for weather-related cancellations. All riders must adhere to the 4-H Equine Guidelines, which are available online through Iowa State University Extension and Outreach at https://store.extension.iastate.edu/product/430.
