Dean E. Keller

Dean E. Keller, 89, of Clarion, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 19, 2025 at Holmes Baptist Church, 2137 Hancock Avenue west of Clarion, with Pastor Cody Huber officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

Dean Evert, son of Lee and Lois (King) Keller, was born on March 7, 1936 on the family farm in rural Clarion. Dean attended country school until high school where he graduated from Clarion High School in 1954. After high school, Dean went to Iowa State University for a short time for agriculture.

In 1958, Dean was drafted into the United States Army. After being honorably discharged in 1960, Dean returned home to the farm. On February 26, 1961, Dean was united in marriage to Carolyn Muhlenbruck at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Latimer. They made their home on the farm near Clarion where they raised their three sons: Steven, Joseph, and Dale. Dean continued to farm with his sons until a few years ago.

Carolyn and Dean enjoyed spending the winters in Florida and Arizona for 20 years. While wintering in the south, Dean loved going to car shows. Over the years, Dean loved going for tractor rides with his good friends George and Larry. Carolyn and Dean were members of the Missionary Alliance Church most of their married life. Due to their health, they started attending Holmes Baptist Church for the past 5+ years.

Dean is survived by his sons Joseph (Stacey) Keller and Dale (Julie) Keller; daughter-in-law Donna Keller; grandchildren Joey (Candace), Jon (Lynette), Waylon (Breanne), Jenna (Grant) Booth, Austin (Taylor) and Ashley; 16 great-grandchildren; sister Carol (Don) Fauth; and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn in 2022; son Steven; grandson Eddie; brother Chuck, and parents.
