Huxley Lingenfelter will continue a long Cowboy throwing tradition at Drake Stadium. The sophomore is a first-time state qualifier in the discus after a runner-up performance at districts and a season-best throw of 148’ 3”.
Chaz Lane, Lingenfelter’s classmate, is now also a first-time state qualifier after placing 2nd in the high jump with a leap of 5’ 10”. Lane also placed 5th in the 110-meter high hurdles and led off a shuttle hurdle crew of Eduardo Rivera, Daven Duncalf, and Henry Holmes that finished 6th in 1:12.72.
C-G-D’s 4×200 team of Ethan Boots, Lingenfelter, Bryce Lindaman, and Charlie Campbell clocked in at 1:38.15 for 6th overall.
Lane is scheduled to high jump at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, and Lingenfelter’s first throw will happen sometime after 11:30 a.m.
