Last Monday at Cowgirl Park the CGD softball team lost 21-3 to their conference opponents from Clear Lake.
Quinn Brooks, Kayla Hasty, and Blaire Askelesen all recorded a single for Clarion-Goldfield-Dows in the loss. Adelynn Howell finished the night with a run and an RBI. Tess Wibholm and Marlee Thompson both stole a base.

Kayla Hasty got the start in the circle and struck out one batter in an inning of work. Askelsen relieved Hasty for the final three innings of the shortened game. She struck out two and walked ten Lions.
Finlee Jeppeson was Clear Lake’s top performer. The right fielder hit 2-for-3 with a single, a triple, and 5 RBIs. Makyla Johnson threw four innings and struck out nine in the 21-3 victory.
Clear Lake improved to 11-5 after their win and Clarion dropped to 0-11.
