Even though it was a rainy morning, the clouds parted just enough to allow local chili makers to dish up some goods for residents and visitors alike.
When it was said and done, a top five was announced at the conclusion of the 2019 Dell Blair Memorial Chili Cook-off, held as part of the Lake City Fall Fest on Sept. 22 in downtown Lake City.
The total of 19 competitors took part in the Chili Cook-off. Of those 19, The Has Beens – consisting of Starla Winter, Marvin Winter and Gabe Winter – took first place, followed by B&G’s second place outing.
The Lake City Fire Department hauled in a third place finish, followed by M&M. The Chunkiest Chili rounded out the top five with a fifth place showing.
Adalyn Green was named the Lake City Little Miss Pumpkin Princess during the Fall Fest celebration.
