Heartland Museum adds Outdoor Learning Center

Heartland Museum has added a new attraction for 2021.  In early 2020, the Museum discussed the need to add space, and the idea of an Outdoor Learning Center was approved.  Two major grants helped make the Center happen.  One for $7,000 was received from the Bayer Fund and the other was $4,000 from the Wright County Charitable Foundation.

The two grants helped pay for preparing the site and the building.  It is planned to use other donations to finalize the building.  There is one room, which will be used to display and store horse equipment.  The larger area is for events.  Two of the ideas are to have a farrier presentation and a horse driving presentation.  Other ideas fitting to hold outdoors have been discussed.

The building was recently delivered to the site, and Heartland Museum is excited to have this new addition to the complex.

Call 515-602-6000 for more information.  Heartland is located at 119 9th St. SW in Clarion.  Because of COVID, Heartland is not currently offering tours.  This will be re-evaluated the first week of January.
