The Cowboy wrestling team has been assigned to a 2A sectional meet in Clear Lake on Saturday, February 6 starting at noon. Teams joining them and the host Lions are Forest City, Garner-Hayfield/Ventura, Osage and Southeast Valley.
The first and second place individual finishers will then advance to the district round on Saturday, February 13 at Humboldt. That also starts at noon, and brings in wrestlers from Algona, Emmetsburg, Estherville-Lincoln Central, Humboldt, Okoboji and Spirit Lake Park to join the Clear Lake qualifiers. First and second place wrestlers at the districts will qualify for the 2021 State Wrestling Tournament February 18-20 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. In addition, each of the sectional team champions in 2A, along with the next eight highest ranked teams (Coach’s Poll) will qualify for a regional dual and a chance to move on to the State Dual Tournament on February 17th.
