The Nielsen Family Fieldhouse was the setting for the annual boys indoor track & field meet hosted by the Humboldt Wildcats. The home team used their friendly confines to take the team crown with 138 points. They were followed by: Carlisle 110, Webster City 66, Roland-Story 62, Clear Lake 52, St. Edmond 47, Algona 28, Eagle Grove 16, C-G-D 12 and Garner-Hayfield/Ventura 12.
Highlights include Nevan Foss individually as he took eighth in the 60-meter dash (7.84) and 10th in the high jump (5’ 2”). Three different relay groupings also shined. Rigo Bobadilla, Foss, Jacob Ingebritson and Mason Allen on anchor posted a 1:43.86 for fourth out of 20 4×2 relay entries. Alex Greving then replaced Allen to run with the other three to a 3:55.57 clocking and sixth place out of 18 4×4 relay entries. Finally, the distance medley foursome of Bobadilla, Diego Gonzalez, Greving and Isaiah Nebbe turned in a 4:18.17 for eighth place out of 18 entries.
Bobadilla finished 15th in 8.02 in the 60-meter dash, with Nebbe taking 11th with a 12:27.50 in the 3200. Mason Allen took 23rd in a time of 27.39 in the 200, followed by teammates Ingebritson in 27th (28.42), Angel Carrillo in 34th (30.03) and Juan Jimenez in 39th (31.20). Nicholis Sisson was 32nd in 9.23 and Caden Hankins 37th in 9.84 in the 60 dash. In the 400, it was Jeffrey Leal 27th in 1:07.20, Armando Garcia 28th in 1:07.65, Ulises Frias 34th in 1:12.00 and Ismael Perez 36th in 1:13.31.
Joshua Moore finished 16th in 7:14.07 in the 1600 and 18th in 2:42.93 in the 800. The shot event saw Mason and Hankins tie for 21st at 31’ 02”, while Sisson was right behind in 23rd at 30’ 10”. Caleb Curry threw to 21’ 9” for 43rd.
In other relay entries, the team of Preston Gardner, Max Smith, Austin Bierl and Brallon Gomez finished in 17th in 1:54.87 in the 4×2. Gonzalez, Gardner, Wyatt DeCoster and Gomez clocked in at 4:21.95 for 15th in the 4×4. Nick Carpenter, Christopher Jacobsen, Smith and Leal combined for a 4:40.12 for 15th in the distance med event.
