Cowgirls basketball having trouble putting win streak together

            In a home game last Friday, the Cowgirls struggled to contain Hampton-Dumont/CAL as the Bulldogs took home a 62-36 win. The visitors forged a 32-18 halftime margin.

             Raven Kinnetz dropped 14 points through the rims with a trey. Kendall Lienemann netted nine points on 4 of 6 from the field, with Morgan Middleton adding seven points, Quinn Hansch three points on a bucket from beyond the arc, Jadyn Jondle two points and Alaina Friesleben one point. Kinnetz had a double-double in cleaning the glass for 11 rebounds, eight of them defensively. Lienemann had six, Jondle five and Middleton four caroms for the night. Hansch and Friesleben had two rebounds each.

            Earlier in the week, they took home a huge 52-20 win over the home team Eagle Grove Eagles on Monday, December 9th. The halftime score was 34-13 in favor of the Cowgirls, and they rolled on from there in outscoring the Eagles 18 points to seven through the entire second half.

            Kinnetz led the column with 20 points including three baskets from beyond the arc. Harle finished with 11 points on 50 percent from the field, and Middleton was close to doubles at eight points. Hansch chipped in six points on two treys, Jondle four points, Lane two points and Friesleben one point. Harle reached a double-double by getting her hands on 11 rebounds, with seven of those on the offensive side. Middleton tied her at 11 boards, seven of those on defense. Lienemann and Friesleben got five each, Kinnetz and Jondle three each, Hansch and Lane two each and Conlon one.

            Kinnetz, Hansch and Harle all dished the ball for three assists apiece, with Jondle getting two and both Lienemann and Middleton one each. Kinnetz picked off seven steals and Middleton five in a night night defensively for both. Harle made two, with Waters, Hansch, Lane and Keller all contributing one apiece. Friesleben rounded out her night with three blocked shots. Lienemann, Harle and Middleton all chipped in one each.

            In a game not reported on last week, the team took a 62-27 loss at Clear Lake. Kinnetz led the scoring with 15 points, while Harle grabbed nine rebounds to led that stat. Kinnetz made two assists, Harle four steals and both Kinnetz and Hansch three thefts of the ball each.

            The team plays in Humboldt this Friday before entering the holiday break.
