Cowgirl basketball takes care of Cadets

            In a home game last Tuesday, the C-G-D Cowgirls defeated Iowa Falls-Alden 57-44. The ladies in red & black jumped out to a ten point lead at 17-7 after one quarter and the doubled that margin to make for a 36-16 halftime advantage.

            Three players ended up in double digits in the scoring column. Raven Kinnetz poured in 21 points including going 5 of 5 from the charity line. Courtney Harle netted 14 points on 5 of 7 from the field, while Morgan middleton scored 12 points on 50 percent from the field. Quinn Hansch and Lexie Lane each bombed in a trey for their only scoring, with Jadyn Jondle and Kendall Lienemann scoring a bucket each.

            Middleton nearly had a double-double in crashing the boards for nine rebounds, six of them on defense. Harle had eight rebounds, Kinnetz five and Jondle, Lienemann and Alaina Friesleben all two apiece. Emma Conlon and Hansch had one each. Lienemann showed unselfish play in giving out six assists, while Kinnetz dished the pumpkin for five assists. Jondle, Friesleben and Middleton all finished with one each. Kinnetz picked off five steals, with Lienemann making four, Harle two and Lane one. Middleton added two blocked shots to her line.

            In a game last Friday before the break, the team lost 53-42 at Humboldt. Stats for that game were not yet posted on quikstats.com
