It’s shaping up to be a fun and busy July out at Lake Cornelia Park. In addition to the regular camping, boating and swimming opportunities, the park and new naturalist Sam Hanson are gearing up for several fun camps next month for kids!
“I’m super excited that we are offering a wide-range of camps that cater to the different interests of kids,” said Hanson. “We’ll tap into a wide range of outdoor skills from building fires and cooking to kayaking and hikes.”
Here are the fun camps that are being offered:
Tuesday, July 6- Duck Duck Goose Camp – Jam packed full of games, building nesting boxes and learning all about how to protect wildlife and their habitats. Ages 8+.
Wednesday, July 7 – Golden Spatula Camp – Bring the heat into campfire cooking. They will have mini mystery cook-offs, go on hikes, learn about things we can eat in the woods and of course, there will be s’mores. Ages 6+
Wednesday, July 14- Otter out of Water Camp- This camp is all about channeling your inner otter by playing water games, swimming and kayaking. Ages 6+

All camps run 9 am to 3 pm. Most of the camps are free but a few of them do require a small registration fee. Hanson said that all kids are welcome, even if they’re from out of the county. Registration is required since each camp is capped at a certain number. These dates are filling up fast, so call or email to register soon.
